Visa partners with digital company to allow buying bitcoin

The intention is to allow clients to buy, guard and exchange bitcoin and other crypto

The giant of electronic payments, Visa, has announced the ties of cooperation with the digital neobank First Boulevard with the aim of testing an API, which means an application programming interface.

The proposal will allow clients and institutional partners to buy, guard and exchange bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies held by Anchorage, a bank of digital assets authorized by the federal government.

For his part, Alfred Kelly, CEO of the company, assured that they could add cryptocurrencies to their payment network of more than 70 million merchants.

Likewise, Jack Frestell, Visa’s product director, reported: “We set out to make Visa the bridge between digital currencies and our global network of 70 million merchants and today we are the leading crypto wallet network with 35 crypto platforms choosing to issue with Visa.

He added that with this pilot plan “we want to extend the value to our financial institution and neobank clients by providing an easy bridge to crypto assets and blockchain networks.”
