Gmail works on correcting grammar mistakes

The email platform added a function that tells users when they make a mistake when writing

Gmail has introduced a new function that indicates to the users the grammatical errors and the errata that they commit when writing an email, suggesting instead corrections, although it is a feature that has been enabled for the moment only in its English version.

Grammatical errors are detected by Gmail through Google’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) mechanisms, wich are also able to warn errata, automatically correcting some common failures and warning of this change teamporally with an underline mark, as the company has explained in a statement.

The grammatical errors in the ’emails’ are marked in blue and Gmail shows users an AI-based correction suggestion, which can be accepted by clicking on the highlighted word or sentence.

Google has explained that the corrector function can be deactivated in the settings of Google accounts; it said that it has begun to be distributed gradually since this Tuesday and that since September 12th the distribution will be total.

The function will be activated by default for all Google account users and at the moment the suggestions work only in English.
