China will transform domestic waste into electricity

The country obtained a loan for 100 million dollars to finance electricity production project from waste

On Monday, the company SUS Environment Co., Ltd. of China finalized the signing of an important agreement with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to receive a loan of 100 million dollars for the financing of a project to generate electric power from of household waste.

Every day human activity produces tons of waste. In Taiyuan, capital of the northern Chinese province of Shanxi, as well as in the city of Zhuhai, southern province of Guangdong, two projects will be developed by SUS Environment.

Both initiatives “will achieve the harmless treatment of 1.75 million tons of annual household waste, which will generate 437.5 million kilowatt hours of green electricity“, with the cooperation of the ADB.

The goal is also the reduction of greenhouse gases in 1.17 million tons of carbon dioxide, in addition to creating 150 new jobs, said Long Jisheng, president and CEO of SUS Environment.

Through the loan obtained from the ADB, the two Chinese provinces will achieve the impetus to develop different projects focused on providing better services to the population.
