Venezuela to launch policy to eradicate hunger

Given the need to guarantee food supplies for the population and eradicate hunger, Venezuela announced the Venezuela Alimenta Plan, which will help authorities meet the goal by 2030

Venezuela will fight to eradicate hunger with a new law complementing the Law of Communal Economy within the framework of the Venezuela Alimenta Plan.

The goal is to guarantee food for the population, in what the acting president, Delcy Rodríguez, has called the “zero hunger” plan.

The new legal instrument will concentrate community, local, and regional efforts to achieve the goal of food sovereignty by 2030.

Venezuela has requested technical support from the FAO to strengthen the Venezuela Alimenta Plan, during Rodríguez’s participation in the organization’s recent summit in Rome, Italy.
