Cloudflare experienced an outage on Tuesday, November 18, that lasted more than six hours and affected internet browsing globally. As a result, the platform has announced security and reliability improvements to prevent similar incidents.
Users reported being unable to access the social network X, in particular, as well as a wide range of cryptocurrency sites, finance and ChatGPT websites, starting early Tuesday morning.
Improving security
In this regard, the platform announced plans to “strengthen security in the processing of its own configuration files, treating them with the same caution as user-generated input.” It also noted the implementation of “more global kill switches for its features, allowing for rapid deactivation in case of emergencies.”
