High-consumption appliances would be restricted from connecting to power strips

Household power strips allow multiple appliances to be connected at once. However, high-demand appliances such as microwaves, refrigerators, hair dryers, coffee makers, toasters, or compressors are excluded due to the risk of overheating or short circuits

In the home, common power strips are a solution for connecting multiple electrical appliances at once. However, there are restrictions to prevent overheating of the wiring or short circuits, among other accidents.

As is known, there are household appliances that have high electrical demands, such as a washing machine, dryer, iron, microwave oven, hair dryer, or compressor.

Electrical experts recommend not connecting these items to the same power strip, as excessive power consumption could cause the wires to overheat, which could even cause a fire. On the other hand, and as a consequence of the above, a short circuit could occur that could affect the entire home.

The recommendations go further, warning against ever connecting the aforementioned appliances, as well as electric pots, deep fryers, styling tools, and other power strips, to a power strip. In these cases, a direct current outlet is preferable.
