The BitBase company officially enters the Latin American market with the inauguration of its first ATM on July 18 in Paraguay

The Spanish bitcoin ATM company (BTC ATM), BitBase, officially enters the Latin American market with the inauguration of its first ATM on July 18 in Asunción, Paraguay in front of the CC Shopping Mariscal, with which users will be able to acquire or sell Bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies.

Currently, Paraguay has only one ATM owned by the Counter Commerce company and the Xtra24/7 supermarket in Asunción is located.

The Spanish company reported that it plans to install various Bitcoin ATMs during the second half of 2022, not only in Paraguay; but also other Latin American countries in order to position themselves in that market.

With the opening of the ATM in Asunción, BitBase increases the number of its ATMs to 100, approximately, in the cities of Spain, Portugal and now Paraguay, including those that operate under the franchise modality.

Next destination could be Venezuela

The BitBase company also announced that its next destination to install its ATMs could be Venezuela. “Our next challenge is to install a Bitcoin ATM in Venezuela.”

For months the company has indicated that it was in talks with the authorities responsible for the matter, in the Caribbean country, and they estimate that with the “opening of Paraguay they can accelerate processes in Venezuela.”

On the other hand, the opening of ATMs demonstrates the growth of this initiative by bitcoin, since according to data released by MonedaATMadar, the ATMs of this cryptocurrency exceed 38,000 worldwide.
