Eurozone will show a slight economic growth of 1.2% this year

The European Commission published its estimates this week regarding current and next year, which will show an improvement of 0.3%

The European Commission published its estimates on the economic growth of the Eurozone, which will be at 1.2% in 2019 and 1.5% in 2020.

On the other hand, it is estimated that the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of 19-member eurozone will reduce the growth of 2.4% in 2017 and 1.9% registered last year.

“The European economy is holding up well against a less favorable world economy and persistent uncertainties,” said the European Commissioner for Financial Affairs, Pierre Moscovici, during the presentation of the forecasts.

This is how Europe’s economy will have to face, externally, an “aggravation of trade conflicts” as well as “the weakness of emerging markets, particularly China.”

The eventuality of a withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union (EU) without agreement also continues to weigh on the EU economy, whose growth in 2019 and 2020 is based on domestic activity, says the community executive.
