YouTube continues in the battle to position itself in the video segment, extending the duration of shorts to three minutes as a strategy against giants like TikTok and Instagram.
According to information released on Friday, October 4, YouTube will increase the duration of its shorts to three minutes from the 15th, adding two minutes to the current duration.
The platform is committed to offering a better experience to creators of audiovisual content. In addition, it will now “have resources such as templates and the Veo video generator.”
The tools that YouTube will make available to users and creators will allow them to “generate a more immersive narrative.”
Another new feature planned for Veo users at the end of this year is “the generative artificial intelligence model developed by Google DeepMind.”
YouTube is aiming to gain a position in the market, for which it had already redesigned the player, so that “the creators’ content occupies a central place, and also introduced a new ‘Trends’ page, similar to that of WhatsApp, in its mobile app.”
But the changes do not stop there, as the platform will allow content creators to access content from the shorts’ camera to use it in their remixes.
