YouTube brings great support to its content creators

The video platform has paid its "youtubers" more than 30,000 million dollars in the last three years

YouTube shared its intention to continue supporting content creators and artists on the platform this year, with greater transparency in its policies and fostering the economy of creators, to whom in the last three years alone it has paid more than 30,000 million dollars.

YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki indicated that in 2021 they have “committed” to supporting content creators and artists in areas such as transparency of policies or participation in the opportunities offered by the platform of all the communities they find their site on YouTube.

This commitment supports the economics of the platform, which, according to Wojcicki, is “incredibly strong and in good shape,” despite the challenges that came in 2020. An example of this is the number of new channels that joined the YouTube Partner Program (YPP), which last year more than doubled that of the previous year.

One of the areas in which the company has set out to improve is the transparency of its policies, the changes of which are sometimes difficult for creators to follow. For this reason, they will offer “more support available to creators” and will introduce “improvements in the appeal process for creators”, as they explain in a statement.

Another important aspect in the relationship between YouTube and creators is the sources of income. In the last three years they have paid more than 30,000 million dollars to creators, artists and the media, as they reported. Additionally, Music and Premium paid services have grown to more than 30 million subscriptions in the third quarter of last year.
