Wikipedia offers TikTok-style content

It's called WikiTok and it's the TikTok-formatted service offered by the online encyclopedia Wikipedia for vertical scrolling while browsing

Users of the online encyclopedia Wikipedia now have a new vertical format, in the style of the TikTok app, called WikiTok.

The developer behind this novel initiative is Isaac Gemal, who had been working on a version of content to allow faster and more comfortable navigation in the style of the ByteDance app, TikTok, for scrolling vertically when browsing.

According to Gemal, the interaction is more fun with the vertical scrolling that users of the TikTok video platform are already accustomed to.

“Available through app stores and on the web, WikiTok offers visitors a random list of Wikipedia articles in a vertically scrolling interface.”
