WhatsApp is ready to launch a new feature of custom links that will make the process of making voice and video calls easier and faster.
As is known, until now to make a video call or voice call from WhatsApp the user must enter the chat in the application, look for the phone icon or go directly to the Call tab.
The new WhatsApp functionality will allow “to create a link for anyone to join your call, even if they are not in your contact list”, according to the WABetaInfo portal. In the application, “a new Call Link icon” will be visible right next to the clip for attaching photos or documents. Clicking there creates a link to share.
“This reduces the number of steps required, making the process faster and more intuitive. WhatsApp has also made the feature more visible to users by adding this shortcut directly within the chat attachments menu,” adds WABetaInfo.
Creating this link takes just a few seconds, so a person who is about to start a meeting can make the invitation to another person and send it to them wherever they want; they could even share it on Instagram.
