WhatsApp update will allow sharing music in statuses

A recent WhatsApp update will allow users to share music and 15-second videos in their statuses

This Monday, January 20, Meta announced that among the new features of the new WhatsApp update is the possibility for users to share music and videos in statuses for 15 seconds.

According to information from the parent company, this update has already been tested on various iOS and Android operating systems in collaboration with the company Universal Music Group.

This agreement “will allow users to access the same playlists as the social network Instagram.” WhatsApp users will be able to “search for specific songs or artists directly from the drawing editor, providing an improved way to integrate their favorite songs into their updates,” according to the WhatsApp website.

With this initiative, the platform seeks to improve user interaction, in addition to moving towards a new level in the customization of statuses.

According to data from WABetaInfo, “the update is available on test devices, both Android and iOS, however they stressed that it will be officially available in the coming weeks.”
