A feature enabled by WhatsApp for Android allows users to scan any type of document without having to resort to third-party apps.
This is a new feature already enjoyed by iOS users and is now being added to Android users, according to Wabetainfo, emphasizing the ease this innovation represents for those who need to scan a document.
How does it work? For iOS, users simply enter a conversation, click the “+” symbol, and from there, select ‘Documents’ to find the option to scan documents.
For Android, the feature will be in a similar location and will offer two options: manual and automatic. “The automatic option directly detects the edges of the document and takes a screenshot immediately, which is ideal if you’re in a hurry. However, the best option is the manual option, as it allows you to easily frame the document so it comes out perfectly. Once the screenshot is taken, you can adjust the scan, so the edges aren’t visible.”
Then, all that’s left to do is share the file in any conversation. It will also be possible to save it to your device.
Another good news for Android users is that the document scanning feature will be natively available for WhatsApp.
