Venezuelan automotive market seeks to recover production levels

The president of the Venezuelan Chamber of Automotive Parts Manufacturers (Favenpa), Omar Bautista, stated that the country aims to recover production levels of 100,000 units annually

Last week, Omar Bautista, president of the Venezuelan Chamber of Automotive Parts Manufacturers (Favenpa), indicated that the country is working to recover the sector’s production capacity and restore the annual supply capacity of 100,000 units.

According to Bautista, the Venezuelan automotive market is showing signs of recovery and commercial dynamism in 2026, evidenced by the sustained sale of thousands of units and the addition of nearly 40 new vehicle brands that diversify the offerings for the Venezuelan people.

The industry leader shared this data during his participation in a radio program, where he emphasized the local commitment to achieving the stated goal by integrating the country’s talent and productive capacity.

The sales growth represents a strategic opportunity to “simultaneously strengthen assembly plants and the national parts and components industry, ensuring that commercial expansion becomes a lasting boost for Venezuela’s industrial fabric.”

During the first quarter of the year, the Venezuelan Automotive Chamber (Cavenez) reported the sale of 11,236 new cars, representing a 74.3 % increase compared to the same period in 2025.

Bautista highlighted the joint efforts of the public and private sectors to chart a course. “A path to prosperity and productive job creation,” where the automotive sector, technical working groups with the Ministry of Industries and National Production, and the Ministry of Economy, Finance, and Foreign Trade converge.

The goal is to implement policies that will “integrate local industry into supply chains, consolidating a harmonious balance that fosters economic growth and elevates Venezuelan-made manufacturing.”
