Venezuela is ready to host the 19th China-Latin America and the Caribbean Business Summit in 2026. To do so, it made a formal request to the Chinese Council for the Promotion of International Trade.
In a press release, the Venezuelan government gave details about the proposal made by the Venezuelan ambassador to China, Giuseppe Yoffreda Yorio, who will be replaced in the coming days by former Interior Minister Remigio Ceballos.
According to Yoffreda, Venezuela’s interest is to strengthen trade and investment cooperation between the two regions. He emphasized the abundance of raw materials that Venezuela has, “which could strengthen China’s industrial supply chain, contributing to the security, quality and stability of global supply.”
Regarding the investment sector, he pointed out that the South American country has “the largest oil reserves in the world.”
Venezuela’s request will be presented to the competent authorities by the president of the CCPITS, Ren Hongbin, who has reiterated China’s willingness to strengthen cooperation with Venezuela.
