Venezuela established an alliance with the Russian company Kamaz for the assembly in national territory of medium-sized buses, 20-ton cargo trucks and units for public transport.
Kamaz will work together with the Venezuelan company J.C. Internacional 2004 C.A., according to the memorandum of understanding “to supply the growing Venezuelan market for passenger and cargo vehicles.”
According to the Russian media Sputnik, both parties are working on the launch in Venezuela of a project to assemble special vehicles and buses on Kamaz chassis from assembly kits.
Although they are still negotiating the volume of units to be delivered, the head of Kamaz, Sergei Kogogin, stated that the commercial alliance “opens the doors to new possibilities” taking into account the extensive experience of production of trucks and passenger cars in Russia, Kamaz and its impact on the development of the segment in Venezuela.
