Venezuela and Colombia will create a zone of peace, unity, and development

According to statements by Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil, the nation and Colombia signed an agreement to create a Zone of Peace, Union, and Development to foster cooperation between the two territories

A new chapter in economic cooperation between Venezuela and Colombia begins with the signing of the agreement between the two countries to create a Zone of Peace, Union, and Development.

Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil reported on this alliance signed last Thursday, July 17, which seeks to “promote regional stability and economic cooperation between the two nations.”

Gil “highlighted that the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding for the creation of the first Binational Economic Zone of Peace, Union, and Development is the result of the alliances established between Presidents Nicolás Maduro and Gustavo Petro.”

This new bilateral agreement is expected to increase trade and exchange between the two countries, “as well as interconnection between them. The Foreign Minister affirmed that this initiative will align efforts to develop this region and promote national progress.”
