Venemergencia opens 7th Urgent Care Center in Venezuela, this time in Maracay

It is an effective and fast healthcare option available to members of the country's leading insurance companies, which has managed to reduce the average cost of emergency care by three times (3x)

Venemergencia, a leading company in primary healthcare in Venezuela, inaugurated its seventh medical emergency center, this time in the city of Maracay, which also houses Venemergencia’s operational base in that region.

The first Urgent Care center opened in Caracas in August 2023, and by the end of August 2025, it had served more than 50,000 people across its six locations, with a customer satisfaction rating of 97% (NPS). The average wait time from arrival is less than 10 minutes, and the total time spent at the center is less than 2.5 hours. Caracas already has two Urgent Care centers (Xerox Tower and La Candelaria), one at the Concepto La Viña shopping center in Valencia, and others in Lechería, Maracaibo, and Barquisimeto.

Additionally, with these initiatives, the Venemergencia Group has managed to reduce the average cost of emergency care by three times (3x). This is an effective and fast healthcare option available to members of the country’s leading insurance companies, making Venemergencia a reliable and robust partner that ensures the smooth functioning of the healthcare system based on a value-based care model.

Realizing a great purpose

Dr. Andrés Simón González Silén, Executive President of Venemergencia, stated that “we are not only opening a new location, we are consolidating a vision: that of a country where access to quality healthcare is a reality. Today we complete the first phase of the expansion of our Urgent Care model. And we have already taken firm steps in consolidating our network of partners, activating operations in Margarita and Guatire, and soon in Puerto Ordaz, Acarigua, San Antonio de Los Altos, and San Cristóbal. This year we will complete 20 partnerships based on this model,” he emphasized.

For his part, Dr. Luis Enrique Velásquez, Operations Director of Venemergencia, highlighted that 25% of the cases treated in the Urgent Care centers have been injuries, followed by acute viral syndrome and lower respiratory infections, and specified that 92% of the cases treated were resolved without the need for referral to an emergency room. “This is more than a business model; it is the realization of our purpose: to provide more and better access to healthcare for Venezuelans. Giving this option to the residents of Maracay and surrounding areas fills us with pride.”

Consolidation of partnerships

Dr. González Silén emphasized that with the opening of Urgent Care Maracay, “Venemergencia is consolidating its position as a leading company in the sector; our actions demonstrate our purpose, and we are paving the way as a model for the country. Having 7 locations that positively impact the quality of life of patients and reduce costs for our clients demonstrates that the value-based healthcare model works, is humane, and has the potential for unlimited expansion.”

This location also consolidates Venemergencia’s partnership with Proyecto Remo to promote reading in the “Dr. The “José María Vargas” library, operating under the “take a book, leave a book” concept, enhances the experience for those visiting the Urgent Care center, promoting a love of reading and fostering a sense of community and trust.

The opening event was attended by journalists and local businesspeople, and was preceded by several meetings with insurance brokers.  The event also featured a special performance by Quattro Corde, a group from El Sistema, who delighted the audience with their music. This was part of the institutional partnership between the Venemergencia Foundation and El Sistema.
