United States to launch program to encourage foreign investment
The President of the United States, Donald Trump, announced that he will launch a visa program for investors, called “gold cards,” with a budget of five million dollars, in order for them to come to the country to establish businesses and generate jobs
With the aim of encouraging the arrival of foreign investors and, in addition, facilitating their legal residence, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, announced a plan that will replace EB-5 visas.
The “gold cards” are part of a strategy to offer permanent residence and a path to citizenship to foreign investors. For this, Trump would have a budget of five million dollars.
From the Oval Office, the president said: “We are going to sell a gold card, you have a green card, this is a gold card. We’re going to put a price on that card of about 5 million dollars, and that will give them the privileges of the green card, in addition to being a path to citizenship.”
This initiative would be up and running in a couple of weeks and is not expected to require approval from Congress. The American president hopes that wealthy investors will come to the country, buy the card, and generate income and employment.
