Venezuela and Vietnam maintain a positive trade relationship, according to Oswaldo Hernández, president of the Venezuelan-Vietnamese Chamber of Commerce (CAVENVIET), who notes that it is currently estimated at $ 55 million.
Hernández pointed out that this figure, compared to other countries, is modest. However, he stated that “it is consistent and growing, especially since it does not involve oil.”
Venezuelan exports to Vietnam are steady and continue to grow, which underscores the importance of the Asian country as a trade partner.
In this regard, Quang Doung, the trade secretary of the Asian country in Venezuela, confirmed that his country is one of the most important partners in Latin America, and “that the trade relationship is increasing significantly compared to previous years.”
Compared to 2024, the trade value between the two nations is approaching $ 55 million. “During the first six months of 2025, the increase between Vietnam and Venezuela was almost 70 %. It’s a huge and very impressive leap.”
Doung emphasized that the products his country receives from Venezuela include textiles, footwear, electrical appliances, and seafood. Both governments are seeking to strengthen trade cooperation with agreements such as the one signed last week between a Vietnamese investment company and a Venezuelan company through the Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences, “which will provide the financial support for the agreement, which will begin in early 2026.”
