The executive director of the China-Venezuela Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ángel Freytez, estimates that during this year commercial activity between both countries could increase between 5 and 20 %.
Freytez highlighted the advances in commercial matters through the dynamics of the Special Economic Zones, in addition to the initiatives related to non-traditional exports from Venezuela to the Asian country.
On the other hand, he highlighted that China exported more than 1.3 billion dollars to Venezuela in 2024 and stressed that this nation is currently “our main commercial partner.”
Regarding Venezuelan exports to China, Freytez estimated them at around $700 million a year, where non-traditional products such as shrimp, crab, octopus and tilapia stand out. Also, items such as wood, methanol and liquor are exported.
