TikTok opens European Center for Transparency and Accountability

The Chinese social network enabled a space for experts to see the work that its developers do there

TikTok announced the establishment of a European Center for Transparency and Accountability as part of its commitment to transparency after opening its first space in the United States in the summer of last year.

The European Center for Transparency and Accountability will give the opportunity to experts, academics and policy makers to see the work done by the teams of the Chinese social network to make the platform “a safe and positive experience” for its users community.

The company opened its first center in the US, in July 2020, and since then more than 70 experts and policy makers have passed through it.

TikTok indicated that the center will initially operate virtually due to Covid-19 restrictions, but that it expects to open another physical space in Ireland in 2022.
