The document states: “Today, at the third Ministerial Meeting of the Los Angeles Declaration on Migration and Protection, held in Guatemala City, Guatemala, the United States announced that it will provide almost $578 million in humanitarian, development and economic assistance. This funding will help partner countries and host communities respond to urgent humanitarian needs, expand legal migration pathways, and support the regularization and integration of migrants. That figure includes $459 million in humanitarian assistance for vulnerable populations, including migrants, refugees and displaced people, across the region, including nearly $83 million in humanitarian assistance funding through USAID to meet the most pressing needs. of vulnerable Venezuelans.”

This USAID humanitarian aid will be channeled toward “emergency food and nutritional assistance to Venezuelan migrants and refugees and host communities throughout the region.”

In addition, urgently needed medical aid, food assistance, water, improved sanitation services, hygiene education and hygiene supplies will be provided to vulnerable populations residing in Venezuela.
