During the first week of December, the Central University of Venezuela (UCV), the Andrés Bello Catholic University (UCAB), and the Metropolitan University (Unimet), with support from the French Embassy, presented the proposal for the First International Sustainability Congress, which will take place in Caracas from March 18 to 20, 2026
In 2026, from March 18 to 20, the First International Sustainability Congress, proposed by the Central University of Venezuela, the Metropolitan University, and the Andrés Bello Catholic University, with support from the French Embassy, will be held.
The congress will take place at the UCV University City. The agenda includes topics such as “the climate crisis, promoting innovative solutions, and strengthening international academic cooperation.”
Likewise, the conferences, colloquia, and other activities on the agenda will address topics such as “environmental justice, ecological restoration, environmental education, social innovation, the circular economy, climate action, and inclusive development.”
The initiative by the universities reaffirms their commitment to “educate, research, and act,” as well as actively participating in the search for solutions at a global level.
The development of critical citizens, capable of contributing ideas that allow for sustainable solutions to the climate crisis, is the cornerstone of universities and, in general, of any educational institution committed to survival.
