The 2026 Hyundai Palisade debuted “Bigger and Better” at the New York Show

With three rows, it offers a bold design, a premium cabin, and significantly enhanced technical and engineering capabilities

Hyundai’s all-new 2026 PALISADE three-row SUV made its North American debut at the New York International Auto Show. This next-generation flagship builds on the momentum of previous models; in 2024, it recorded its best-ever sales year, with a 23 % year-over-year increase.

It’s now bigger, better, and outperforms its acclaimed predecessor and its SUV competitors

The 2026 Hyundai PALISADE demonstrates its commitment to customer needs. With a bold design, empowering technology, and enhanced comfort, it includes a redesigned third row, as Hyundai wanted to offer a vehicle that truly meets the needs of today’s drivers, said Olabisi Boyle, senior vice president of product planning and mobility strategy. The introduction of a hybrid variant, along with our robust internal combustion engine and adventure-ready XRT model, ensures every driver will find their ideal vehicle. This strategic approach positions Hyundai to excel in any market, fueling our continued growth in the SUV segment, the spokesperson and representative added.

Innovative and unparalleled exterior and interior of the 2026 Hyundai PALISADE

The all-new exterior and interior of the PALISADE are bold yet refined, encapsulating a more refined platform that offers more space for passengers and cargo. A new hybrid powertrain and the introduction of Hyundai’s first XRT PRO model mean the PALISADE is ready to meet the needs of more families than ever before. Not only does its increased space, longer range, and ruggedness impress; its infotainment, comfort, and advanced safety system enhancements make it a new model with greater capabilities across the board.

The center console is designed to optimize seating space, wrapped in premium materials inspired by luxury furniture. The center console and armrest were not only designed for comfort but also to improve ergonomic stability when accessing vehicle controls. The PALISADE offers a dual-door center console with an open tray at the bottom of the console, along with conveniently located physical switches. A wireless charging pad with an integrated fan for cooling devices is ideally located in the center console. The platform provides a generous 15 watts for fast device charging, making it the perfect complement to the PALISADE’s standard wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration. An available 14-speaker Bose® surround-sound audio system unifies the entire premium cabin experience, enveloping all three rows with rich, lifelike sound. Additionally, a curved, panoramic digital instrument panel and a navigation system with two 12.3-inch displays provide key information at the driver’s eye view.

The 2026 PALISADE now offers innovative Relaxation Seats for first- and second-row passengers, offering generous additional recline angles and fold-out upper leg supports to reduce fatigue during extended sitting periods. Standard equipment includes eight-passenger seating, ideal for family adventures. Available captain’s chairs include a one-touch tilt and slide feature in the second row for simple operation, making access to the third row easier. For added convenience, the third-row seats are available with power folding, sliding, and reclining mechanisms. The articulation functions of the second- and third-row seats can also be controlled from the driver’s seat or the cargo area for added convenience when picking up passengers and their cargo. Cup holders and 100-watt USB-C ports are easily accessible in each row, ensuring all occupants and devices are charged throughout the journey.

Advanced technology for your safety and well-being, as well as that of your family, at all times

In addition to Hyundai’s SmartSense suite of active and passive safety features, the 2026 PALISADE protects families in a variety of ways, both while driving and parking. For the first time in a Hyundai vehicle, the integrated dual-camera Dash Cam records continuously while driving. It also works with various vehicle sensors to automatically record nearby movement while parked. The Dash Cam offers added peace of mind in a variety of driving and parking situations, from emergency braking to hit-and-run situations. Video segments can be easily accessed through the head unit’s screen or downloaded from the MicroSD card located in the glove compartment.

The PALISADE even offers a UV-C sterilization compartment within the center console storage compartment. An available full-screen digital rearview mirror uses a wide-angle camera mounted on the rear door to help the driver see behind the vehicle when the rear window is obstructed by passengers or cargo. An Advanced Rear Occupant Alert, discreetly installed under the headliner, monitors the rear seat area to detect child movement, automatically reminding drivers to check the rear seats when exiting the vehicle. If the system detects movement in the rear seats after the driver exits and locks the vehicle, it can sound the horn and send an alert to their smartphone via Bluelink. The system is designed to prevent children from being left in the car, but can also help in the event of a child accidentally being locked inside.

The 2026 PALISADE is compatible with the latest version of Hyundai Digital Key 2.0 Premium, which allows owners to leave their key fob at home and use a compatible smartphone or smartwatch to lock, unlock, and start the vehicle. Digital keys can also be shared with family and friends for instant vehicle access. PALISADE also offers Wi-Fi connectivity with the built-in Alexa voice assistant. Vehicles with cellular connectivity will be able to provide a Wi-Fi connection that allows others to surf the internet, stream videos or music, and more, just like at home.

New, powerful, and efficient internal combustion and hybrid propulsion systems

The 2026 PALISADE offers two new engine options. The internal combustion engine features a new 3.5-liter V6 generating up to 287 horsepower and up to 260 lb-ft of torque (both estimated). The direct-injection engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission with a dual-cam torque converter. This standard internal combustion engine (ICE) is available in two-wheel drive and HTRAC® all-wheel drive configurations. This naturally aspirated V6 targets a robust maximum towing capacity of 5,000 pounds, giving active families the flexibility to haul a variety of weekend gear, such as RVs, boats, and powersports equipment.

For 2026, a hybrid option joins the PALISADE powertrain portfolio for the first time. It features a 2.5-liter turbocharged inline-four engine, generating up to 258 estimated horsepower. Two electric motors mounted in the six-speed automatic transmission case add 90 horsepower, for a total estimated system output of up to 329 horsepower and up to 339 pound-feet of torque (both estimated).

Whether you opt for the ICE or the hybrid under the hood, the PALISADE is extremely quiet, with a standard laminated windshield and front side glass, generous underhood insulation, special soundproofing floor mats, and powertrain tuning that delivers a smooth, linear response.
