Texas to create a state reserve of bitcoin

The state of Texas introduced the bill to create a local reserve of bitcoin, considering its potential as an investment asset

Texas has proposed the creation of a local reserve of bitcoin, which would be maintained for five years, given the potential of the cryptocurrency as a reserve asset.

According to local media, “the proposal was introduced by Texas representative Giovanni Capriglione, an initiative with which he seeks to position the state at the forefront of what appears to be a new era for digital currencies in the US after Donald Trump’s victory in the last elections.”

Capriglione’s proposal is oriented towards the management of a reserve of bitcoins within the state treasury, as well as “the management of cryptocurrencies by government entities presented” in said reserve.

The account of this reserve will be funded through donations, with the aim of maintaining it for five years.
