Sustainable innovation: Bancamiga supports the “Caracas 2026 International Sustainability Congress”

Bancamiga is participating as a sponsor of the Caracas 2026 International Sustainability Congress: “Alliance for Climate Action and Sustainability,” which will have The event will take place from March 18 to 20 in the Aula Magna of the Central University of Venezuela (UCV).
his high-level meeting, jointly organized by UCV, the Metropolitan University (UNIMET), and the Andrés Bello Catholic University (UCAB), with the support of the French Embassy, will bring together global experts from eight countries to discuss urgent issues facing the planet.
For Bancamiga, this support is an integral part of its sustainability policy, which seeks to generate shared values with society. By supporting this forum, the institution reaffirms its commitment to the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda.

During a meeting with representatives of the organizing committee, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bancamiga, José Simón Elarba, celebrated the institutional synergy that makes this event possible, a unique opportunity to promote the integration of environmental criteria into economic activities and positively impact the population.
“We have to generate economic benefits and at the same time contribute to sustainable development, that is, to social well-being and by responsibly using the resources that nature offers us,” she expressed.
Fátima Fernández, Academic Vice-Rector of the UCV and organizer of the congress, acknowledged the interest and importance that climate action and development in balance with the environment have for the bank: “Banks have been working on sustainable finance, and Bancamiga is one of those leading this project,” she stated.

High-level regional meeting and event
This congress is shaping up to be the most relevant meeting dedicated to sustainability in the region “after the significance of COP, by aligning global objectives with local productive realities,” positioning “Venezuela on the map of sustainable innovation,” according to a document from the organizers.

This academic event will bring together more than 1,700 people, including researchers, professors, students, and professionals, to reflect on topics such as just socio-environmental transition, circular economy, resource regeneration, climate action, and resilience.
