The supply of supermarkets and convenience stores is guaranteed for the Christmas season, according to Ítalo Atencio, president of the National Association of Supermarkets and Self-Service Stores (ANSA) in a television interview.
The official explained that he recently held meetings with executives from “several supermarket chains, representatives of the agro-industrial and food sectors, where a supply front was worked on: the supply of sensitive and Christmas products is guaranteed this Christmas season.”
He emphasized that product prices were reviewed, “and each sector communicated each of its nodes that were affecting those prices.” He also acknowledged an increase in domestic production of various items and highlighted the presence of “brands for goods such as rice, tomato sauce, corn flour, pasta, coffee, margarine, mayonnaise, cleaning products, and grains; which he believes was achieved through the increase in the number of stores throughout Venezuela.”
At the end of the interview, Atencio mentioned the presence of 154 supermarkets with bakeries and 130 chains with coffee shops throughout Venezuela.
