Spotify begins testing for ticket sales

The streaming music platform started the pilot program that includes the sale of concert tickets

The streaming music platform Spotify has started testing Spotify Tickets, a new initiative with which it offers concert tickets for sale to fans and users from the application itself.

Spotify currently has a feed called “Live Events” for both the app for PC and for iOS and Android, which locates live events in a personalized way and based on the user’s playback habits and location.

In this section, the company offers its users the possibility of buying tickets for concerts and shows. Once the concert is chosen, Spotify redirects them to third-party platforms, such as Ticketmaster.

Now, the platform has started the first tests of a new tool with a different format than this section. In this case, the app will directly manage ticket sales, instead of acting as an intermediary with other ticketing platforms.

To this end, the company launched the Spotify Tickets initiative in the United States, available both in the application and on the Spotify website tickets.spotify.com, where tickets for different artists are available for concerts that will take place in North American territory.

At the moment, this section offers pre-sale concert tickets for artists such as Annie DiRusso, Tokimonsta, Osees, Dirty Honey, Limbeck, Crows and Four Years Strong.

To access this service, the platform requires you to have an account and log in to it, as stated in its Terms and Conditions section. After making the purchase, users will receive a confirmation email.
