Sony has sold more than 19 million PS5 consoles
The company indicated that since its launch the acceptance of the PS5 by the public has been positive
Sony Group Corporation has sold a total of 19.3 million PlayStation 5 (PS5) units since the release of this next-generation console in November 2020.
The company released the financial results for the fiscal year that ended on March 31st, 2022. Of these, it highlighted that it distributed more than two million PS5 units in the last quarter of the year, which corresponds to the first three months of this year.
It was in February of this year that the Japanese technology company published its earnings report for the third quarter of 2021, when it said that it had shipped 3.9 million units to meet demand.
Then, they indicated that so far it had sold 17.3 million next-generation consoles since its launch, produced in November 2020. These figures took some distance from the 20.2 million PlayStation 4 (PS4) units that Sony had administered at the same time of its life cycle.
This determines that it managed to sell 3.1 million units less than the PlayStation 4 at the same time of the analysis, thus confirming the consequences of the lack of supplies derived from the pandemic.
