Saime denies restrictions on domestic fights with expired ID cards

The Administrative Service of Identification, Immigration, and Foreigners (Saime) confirmed this weekend that having an expired ID card is not an impediment to boarding domestic flights

Venezuelans can take domestic flights with their valid or expired ID card. This was clarified by the Administrative Service of Identification, Immigration, and Foreigners (Saime) this Saturday.

The agency’s clarification comes in response to the alleged restriction for boarding domestic flights with expired ID cards circulating on social media.

Saime denied this Saturday, May 10, that there were any impediments for Venezuelans traveling within Venezuelan territory. However, he confirmed that boarding is not permitted if other documents, such as a driver’s license, a copy of an ID card, institutional ID cards, or passports, are presented.
