65 % of Argentines willing to use cryptocurrencies

A study carried out by Coinspaid showed that 65 % of Argentines are willing to use cryptocurrencies as a means of payment in physical stores

A market investigation carried out by Coinspaid revealed that 65 % of Argentines say they are willing to use cryptocurrencies as a means of payment in different types of physical stores. The study was carried out between the months of March and April 2022.

The survey also showed that the percentage could be higher if there were greater legal security in the country for users of these digital currencies.

Meanwhile, 55.5 % of the citizens surveyed expressed their intention to pay with digital currencies in online stores, and 30.8 % prefer them for the acquisition of technological and electronic products.

The figure obtained in Argentina is below the data registered in other Latin American countries such as Brazil and Colombia, where 70 % of citizens would accept to pay with cryptocurrencies in online stores.

Argentines value the legal and promotional aspects

Among the aspects related to digital currencies prioritized by the Argentines surveyed, the “regulation and information on promotions, discounts and exclusive services that businesses that accept cryptocurrencies could offer” stand out.

On the other hand, Argentina is already working on the regulation of cryptocurrencies so that citizens can have the legal support and legal certainty that are required to carry out transactions and a better functioning of the cryptographic system.

One of the steps taken by Argentina was the recent approval by the government of the City of Buenos Aires to cancel taxes with virtual currencies.
