Russia issued a statement this weekend extending its ban on diesel exports from domestic producers until January 31, 2027. This includes marine diesel and diesel fuels exported directly by producers.
With this measure, the Russian government aims to maintain stability in the domestic fuel market.
Russia Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak stated on Friday, October 30, that the government was preparing to “extend a general ban and make exceptions for certain suppliers to allow the export of diesel fuel to international markets.” Similar exemptions were introduced in October and are planned for this month.
As is known, at the beginning of October, a partial easing of restrictions on diesel exports was implemented, “allowing producers to continue some exports.”
