The video game developer will stop providing services as of June 1, as announced by Sony

The PixelOpus video game developer, belonging to Sony Interactive Entertainment, announced the cessation of its activity as of June 2, as part of the result of a recent review process of the Japanese manufacturer in which its closure was decided.

PixelOpus is an American studio that was launched in 2014 as part of Sony, managing to publish well-known titles such as Entwined, released that same year, and Concrete Genie, which was published in 2019. Currently, it was working on a project in collaboration with Sony Pictures Animation.

The developer has announced its closure as of June 2nd, as detailed in a Twitter post, where it has indicated that “the adventure has come to an end”, but also stressed that they look “towards new futures”.

Likewise, the PixelOpus team wanted to thank “the millions of passionate gamers” who have supported their “mission” to create “beautiful and imaginative games with heart.”

In this regard, as detailed by Sony in a statement, the closure of PixelOpus was completed after carrying out one of the regular evaluations of its “portfolio and the status of studio projects“, in order to guarantee that the strategic objectives are met. of the organization in the short and long term.
