Musk added two subscription levels to X

The tycoon owner of X announced that these new subscriptions will be differentiated by advertising

Elon Musk announced that he will soon add two new subscription levels for X (formerly Twitter), which will have all the functions of the X Premium Plan and will be differentiated into a cheaper plan with ads, and another more expensive option but without ads.

As was known at the beginning of the month, the owner of the platform already shared in a company briefing meeting his intention to divide the current X Premium subscription plan into three new payment levels that, as he explained, would be differentiated by the number of ads shown in the ‘feed’.

Now, Elon Musk has confirmed that “soon” the social network will launch two new subscription options framed in the current X Premium plan. This means that you will have all the features and benefits of this plan, but they will vary depending on the number of ads.

This was announced through a publication on the social network itself, where it was detailed that one of the new subscription levels will be “lower cost” but without eliminating ads and the other level will be “more expensive” but, in this case, there will be no advertising. Musk, however, has not announced what the price of these payment models will be.

Currently, the X Premium plan is available in Spain from 8 euros per month in the web version and for 11 euros per month in the applications for devices with the iOS and Android operating system.

This announcement comes after the platform reported on the start of a trial of X in New Zealand and the Philippines, where it has launched a new subscription method for new users, which includes charging an annual fee of around $1 for the use of some of the main functions of the platform, such as publishing messages, in order to combat the proliferation of ‘bots’ and ‘spam’.
