The special Kids’ Banking Programs that Bancamiga launched for both Children’s Day and Christmas enabled 18,821 children and teenagers across the country to open bank accounts, and they now enjoy the benefits of the Bancamiga Mastercard Debit Card.
For ten Saturdays during July/August and November/December, Bancamiga opened its branches in Caracas and other parts of the country to open accounts for children and teenagers between the ages of 9 and 17 with national identity cards.
This initiative also helped bring 6,875 adults into the banking system, of whom 4,097 opened accounts in foreign currency (dollars/euros) and 63 in Venezuelan pesos.
During these special Kids’ events, Bancamiga gave away Mastercard Debit Cards, which, in their various versions, feature contactless technology and offer the ability to pay at points of sale, top up mobile phones, and make mobile payments.
Once the account opening process is complete, children and teenagers should go to www.bancamiga.com, go to the Kids section, and follow the steps to register, the financial institution explained in a statement.

Learning to value the effort behind money and prioritizing needs
For Bancamiga, the success achieved this year with Kids establishes a solid foundation for new products like the Kids Prepaid Card.
The Chairman of Bancamiga’s Board of Directors, José Simón Elarba, indicated that bringing banking services to children and teenagers is a way to instill the importance of responsible money management from an early age.
“It’s a way to develop solid financial habits that last into adulthood. Children learn to value the effort behind money and to prioritize their needs. This promotes economic independence and confidence in digital financial services,” Elarba added.
Although the special campaigns have ended for now, those interested can visit any of the 50 branches nationwide with their representative to open a Kids account and enjoy the benefits of having a Bancamiga account. They must bring a birth certificate and a copy of their national identity card. If your father, mother, or legal guardian is not a client, they must bring a copy of their ID, valid Taxpayer Identification Number (RIF), phone number, and email address.
