The high temperatures of summer can be the cause of the reduction in the performance of electronic devices in daily use. Computers, cell phones, televisions, tablets, among others, are the most affected.
Preventing heat from causing irreversible damage is the most recommended. Users need to keep the ambient temperature below 35 degrees Celsius so that electronic equipment can work properly.
Of course, the use of air conditioning is the first option. However, in Europe currently, the cost of electricity reduces this possibility only to those who can pay for higher consumption. An alternative is to keep devices, such as cell phones and computers, in cool spaces, away from windows where sunlight enters.
A second important recommendation refers to not using plastic casings, since this increases the generation of heat internally while they are being used, and among the most common consequences of this heating is the bulging of the batteries and even their explosion. This advice goes hand in hand with the possibility of deactivating some applications that remain active in the background, such as those that play videos.
Regarding portable computing equipment, it is essential that they are not used on the bed or placed between the legs. These equipments must be on the base or pedestal intended for it, on a desk. They should not remain flat, directly on the base of a table, for example, because in this way the heat emitted by the equipment does not dissipate, the fans do not perform their function efficiently, which translates into overheating of the screen, keyboard , hard drive and the whole device.
Devices such as flash drives and memory cards have been designed to withstand higher temperatures. This does not mean that they should be exposed to heat waves. In any case, what can be damaged by indiscriminate exposure to solar radiation is the material that covers them, which is normally plastic or a similar material, so it can deform and prevent their connection.
