Gemini will be available for children under 13 through Family Link
Google announced that it will launch Gemini, under supervision, for users under 13 through Family Link on iOS and Android
With a focus on learning supported by artificial intelligence, Google will launch Gemini for users under 13 under supervision through Family Link.
According to 9to5Google, “Children will be able to access Gemini with a supervised account through Family Link, the app that brings together Google’s parental controls to manage usage time and access to apps.”
Google clarified that Gemini is not human, although it appears to be, but offers valuable advice “for parents to support their children in their experience with the chatbot.”
The technology company has emphasized the key role of parents in teaching their children to verify information sources and not share personal information, among other security measures.
Parents of minors should know that parental controls for the “Assistant” are not saved for Gemini. Therefore, content inappropriate for their children may be displayed. In this case, it warns of the importance of ensuring that the filters are working.
