Gemini launches Lyria 3 to create music in seconds

Music lovers can now use the new Gemini AI Lyria 3 tool, in free beta, to create melodies in a few seconds

Gemini now allows users to create music in Spanish for free using DeepMind’s AI model, Lyria 3. The tool’s beta mode allows users to create music in seconds “from a text description, an image, or a video.” Furthermore, it “can add Spanish lyrics to the track and its own cover art created with Nano Banana.”

As Google explains, with this tool, Gemini can use a personal selection prompt to “create both the melody and lyrics of the song,” without requiring too many specifications. This allows the AI to leverage Lyria 3 and create its own interpretation.

The process, which can take as little as 30 seconds, relies on Nano Banana, “Google’s image generation technology, to automatically generate cover art for the song.”

Lyria 3 includes eight languages for song lyrics: Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, English, Japanese, Korean, and Hindi, but the tech company has expressed its desire to expand support to more languages.

Those interested can already try the Lyria 3 beta on Gemini, but should remember that it may not work perfectly. “For now, it’s only available on the web version of the AI chatbot (gemini.google.com), while in the coming days it will be added to the iPhone and Android apps. However, access is currently limited to users over 18 years of age,” Google stated.
