This Saturday, September 7, the vice president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodróguez, confirmed the departure for Spain of the former Venezuelan opposition candidate Edmundo González Urrutia, after both nations complied with the relevant protocols for political asylum in the European nation.

Urrutia was subject to an arrest warrant from the Public Ministry, following the events following the presidential elections in Venezuela on July 28.

Rodríguez assured on his Instagram account that Venezuela and Spain complied with the due process protocols for the former opposition candidate to leave for Spain this Saturday as a political asylum, where he left on an Spanish Armed Forces plane.
