Facebook launches paid subgroups for subscriptions

The Meta company developed a new monetization tool that will be used by content creators on the most important social network

Facebook developed a new monetization tool for content creators of the social network, based on a paid subgroups system that users can access by paying a monthly fee to access more content or exclusive functions.

According to what Meta’s management siad at the Facebook Communities Summit event, the social network is “testing the possibility that administrators can create fundraising campaigns to offset the operating costs of the groups”.

Among the novelties it was known that administrators will also be able to create subgroups and implement a subscription system so that interested users can consume exclusive content upon payment and thus monetize their activity on the social network.

In addition to access to exclusive content, users who subscribe to these subgroups will be able to access “experiences” such as ‘coaching’ or ‘networking’ with administrators. Likewise, they will have the opportunity to measure and modify if necessary the focus of their publications based on subscriber demand.

Content creators will have the opportunity to sell their own items or ‘merchandising’ through the store and “reinforce their sense of community“, according to the company.
