According to the latest statistics from BTC Map, the number of restaurants, bars, shops and services that adopted the acceptance of this digital asset amounted to 6,126 at the end of 2023, marking a significant increase from 2,207 registered at the beginning of the same year.

Although there is a slight decrease from the peak reached in September, with 6,590 stores, the momentum in the adoption of bitcoin in the commercial sphere is still evident.

BTC Map uses open source data from OpenStreetMap, allowing businesses and users to tag locations where bitcoin is accepted as a form of payment. This increase could also be attributed to the diligence of users in adding new businesses to the database.

The map reveals a greater concentration of BTC-accepting stores in Central and South America, as well as in the United States and Europe. In contrast, a smaller presence is observed in Africa and Asia. In Southeast Asia, the Philippines leads in business adoption, while China, India and Russia show minimal participation, according to the map.

Until now, the institution offered in its almost 70,000 POS the recharge of Movistar, Digitel and Inter and the sealing of the pictures of the 5 and 6 of the National Institute of Hipódromos. In recent days, the possibility of playing El Andinito de la Lotería del Táchira has also been added, which allows to recharge for a minimum of two tickets. In the latter case, it is essential to be registered on the andinito.com portal

Commissions, additional income for businesses

According to a statement from the banking institution, each of the services offered through the Bancamiga Points of Sale leave the merchant a commission that in the case of INH and El Andinito is 5 %, Movilnet 4.31 %, Movistar 4 %, Digitel 3 %, SimpleTV 2.5 % and Inter 2 %. This turns POS into a tool for businesses to generate additional income to what by nature is already associated with their business objective.

Within the framework of the innovation process that characterizes Bancamiga, these points of sale offer the facility of using the SIM card of any cell phone if they have a data balance, which increases the connection with all platforms. Likewise, the institution became the first bank in the country to offer commercial payment to a natural person (C2P) at POS, a service developed for businesses to be the ones to manage the collection operations from their customers via Mobile Payment. Interbank, through the Bancamiga Points of Sale.

Among their characteristics, these points also include the collection in bolivars and dollars, they are wireless and they trade in a single operation up to 9,999,999,999.99 bolivars. The possibility of acquiring them is a very easy and simple process, especially in operations where you only have to carry a copy of the valid identity card and RIF and have a cell phone number and an email. Delivery is immediate, as well as the possibility of trading, explains the Bancamiga statement.

Carlos Vizcaya, web developer, pointed out that C2P is a new charging mechanism, another alternative, for businesses affiliated with Bancamiga and that it dematerializes the use of the card.

The inclusion of this button will allow the client, once he enters the portal, to know the amount charged, all the transactions of the day and to see the movements of the C2P and P2C channels. You will also be able to observe a module to create different boxes and users in order to process and verify C2P collection operations in real time. And it offers the ability to review the history of transactions.

To make the payment, the following steps must be followed:

Enter the data in the side menu, in the case of Administrator or Ticket Office

Click on the C2P button or press the space key

Enter the data for the collection: bank, ID / RIF, telephone and amount

Enter the security code

Confirm the transaction

The security code or OTP number is obtained when entering Bancamiga Suite. It is a “one time use” numeric password valid for only 15 minutes. In case it expires, you can request a different one by pressing the “New” button just to the right of the last generated key.

Simple and fast process

Unlike mobile payment where the customer is the one who pays, with C2P the dynamics change. Now there is a request for collection from a legal account, in which the natural person pays with that code that is on the phone.

Vizcaya recalled that the C2P Bancamiga was initially developed so that businesses are the ones who manage the collection operations from their customers via Interbank Mobile Payment, through the Bancamiga Points of Sale, in a quick and simple process, without the need for a card. This fact made the institution the first in the country to offer C2P at POS.

“On that occasion we targeted our clients who had POS Bancamiga and who needed to massify the payment options. We installed an application at the point of sale at no additional cost, from which they could also manage the charges to the natural person”, he added.

With the C2P in Internet Banking, Bancamiga continues to offer its clients cutting-edge services and products that meet their needs and contribute to making life easier for Venezuelans.
