According to the Ministries of Defense and the Interior, this and other measures specific to the electoral processes in the country will be applied this Friday.

The measure was announced through a joint resolution of the two ministries. In addition to the closure of the borders this Friday and the prohibition on the sale of alcoholic beverages, the prohibition on carrying weapons and selling fireworks applies; the circulation of heavy cargo, public meetings and demonstrations, among others, is prohibited.

The schedule of the measure begins at 12:01 in the morning on July 26 and ends at 11:59 at night on July 28.

It is important to remember that as a prelude to the elections, the “quartering of the country’s police officers is also decreed, and they remain at the disposal of the Strategic Operational Command of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces.”

The objective of the central bank’s measure “seeks to mitigate the risks associated with operations with these assets that they could generate for users of financial services and for the financial system as a whole.”
