Venezuelan athletes said goodbye with 7 Olympic diplomas

Of note is the recognition diplomas awarded to the men’s fencing team, made up of brothers Rubén, Jesús and Francisco Limardo, and Grabiel Lugo from Carabobo. Likewise, Rosa Rodríguez obtained recognition in hammer throw, Raider Rodríguez in Greco-Roman wrestling, Yohandri Granado in taekwondo, the weightlifters Anyelin Venegas, Keydomar Vallenilla and Naryuri Pérez.

On this occasion, the 33 Venezuelan athletes who participated in the Olympic Games gave their best in each match, but unfortunately they were not able to match their performance in the Tokyo Games, when Venezuela won four medals: three silver and one gold won by Yulimar Rojas.

Upon their return to the country, they begin their preparation for the next Olympics that will take place in Los Angeles, United States, from July 14 to 30, 2028.

Peinado is preparing for the pole vault final that will be held this Wednesday, August 7.

The French capital aspires to become a 100 % bicycle city by 2026. For now, however, the goal is to increase the number of cycling lanes and thus allow access to the venues of the Olympic Games that will take place on December 26. July to August 11.

The use of bicycles is part of the “city’s efforts to promote sustainable mobility”, according to a recent study by the Institut Paris Région (IPR), at the request of public and private institutions, “which places them behind public transport and the march on foot.”

“With 11.2% and 4.3 % respectively, both modes of transport are behind walking, the majority with 53.5 %, and public transport (30 %).”

Regarding sustainable mobility, the French authorities are focused on a “plan of 200 kilometers of metro lines known as the Grand Paris Express, which seeks to connect the suburbs of Paris with public transport and reverse the trend.”

According to the study (October 2022-April 2023), data were collected from 3,337 people, between 16 and 80 years of age, who agreed to be subject to satellite monitoring for a week.

Meanwhile, the city’s mayor, Anne Hidalgo, has made it a priority to reduce car space to the benefit of pedestrians and bicycles.
