I will continue working hard so that its collaborators feel proud of me,” said the graduate of San Ignacio de Loyola and former player of Deportivo La Guaira.

He said that in life you have to work hard to be at the highest level in everything. “A player must have discipline and luck. Whoever does everything to get there will achieve it,” he added.

And youth need figures that show them that it is possible to succeed through hard work and perseverance.

“The presence of Aramburu as ambassador not only reinforces Bancamiga’s commitment to the development of sport in Venezuela, but also promotes a positive message about the importance of sport and discipline in daily life,” he said.

After a lot of effort, he got his passport to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. And he did it directly, by achieving the minimum mark required in the 5,000-meter dash at the Los Angeles Grand Prix.

The young Bancamiga athlete crossed the finish line with a time of 14 minutes, 36 seconds and 59 hundredths, achieving the national, South American and Ibero-American record.

“I am happy to have achieved the mark directly. For me, it is very important to have done that time. This way I don’t have to wait for ranking. The work we have been doing is very good, and I thank my sponsors, especially Bancamiga, for accompanying me on the road to Paris 2024.”

The executive president of Bancamiga, Ariel José Martínez, expressed his “immense joy” for the classification of Brea, a woman who with her perseverance, discipline and commitment has put the name of the country very high.

“We are glad to have accompanied her on her Olympic route, where she achieved three gold medals at the Central American and Caribbean Games, and then another two at the Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile. At Bancamiga we are sure that in Paris she will give her all against the best in the world.”

Los Angeles was once again the setting for Brea to demonstrate her excellent conditions. Last year he set a time of 14.47.76 minutes, which on that occasion also represented a national and South American record, which could even have been his ticket to the Olympic Games, but the qualification period had not begun.

First Venezuelan in history to compete that distance in the Olympics

This Friday night and early Saturday morning at Drake Stadium, at the University of California, the woman from Carabobo finished second, behind the American Elle St. Pierre, world indoor 3,000 meter champion, who recorded an astonishing 14:34.12.

With this place in Paris 2024, Joselyn Brea became the 26th qualifier for Venezuela and the first Venezuelan in history to compete in that distance in the Olympics. On May 31 and June 9 he will be competing in the 1,500-meter dash, the other distance in which he seeks to qualify for Paris.

“I tell all Venezuelans that now I have to continue training hard and taking good care of myself to get to the Olympic Games very well and make a good performance for Venezuela,” Brea concluded.

As soon as the game started, the young woman born 29 years ago in the state of Carabobo came out to comfortably lead the group of participating women to cross the finish line 34 minutes 45 seconds later. At all times she looked relaxed, focused and smiling. María Garrido, with 36.42 and Egris Arias (37.25) took second and third place, respectively.

“I felt very good and calm. Yesterday I did 20 kilometers and today these 10K were training. The competition was very well organized, and I thank Bancamiga for all the support it has given me on my path to Paris 2024. In the next few days, I am traveling to the United States to continue my preparation.”

While receiving the prizes for his victory, including a special bonus from Bancamiga given by the Director of Payment Methods and Channels, Alberto Camardiel, Brea said that at the Pan American Games in Santiago de Chile, where he achieved gold in the 5,000 and 1,500 tests flat meters, it was an honor to leave “our tricolor at the top and I hope everyone was proud of me. We have to work and fight for our dreams. Everything is possible”.

In men, Gabriel Guzmán won with a time of 30.06, followed by Whinton Palma (30.21) and Marvin Blanco (31.25).

“The strategy worked perfectly. I tried at all times to stay close to Whitton and push at the end. I loved the organization and the good atmosphere we enjoyed,” said Guzmán, 21, who will travel to the United States this week after receiving a scholarship from a university in the state of California.

Brea has just made history by becoming the first Venezuelan athlete to reach the top of the podium in track events in a hemispheric event and as part of her preparation she participated in the Caracas Rock 10K, where she won without setbacks in a route that culminated in the main avenue of Las Mercedes.

This Sunday it returns to the asphalt of the capital, when it will seek to prevail again against the best in the country on a route that will have as its starting and finishing point the vicinity of Plaza Alfredo Sadel. During the delivery of materials tomorrow, Saturday, he will sign autographs in the Cité Events Room, Terrace Level, CCCT, between 11:00 am and 12:00 pm.

The young athlete who is the image of Bancamiga has just been applauded this week, when she made the first pitch of the game Leones vs. Cardinals, at the Simón Bolívar Monumental Stadium.

“Every time I see the final of the 5,000 meters and then the 1,500 meters it makes me want to cry. I am very happy for the medals and because the work we have been doing has borne fruit. We will continue dreaming and working for the great goal that will be in August of next year, with the Paris Olympic Games,” he expressed during the broadcast of Bancamiga’s Conecta2 program, prior to the start of that meeting.

Although her participation in next year’s Olympic Games has not yet been made official, her results and outstanding position in the World Athletics Ranking suggest that she will be one of the 905 women in athletics who will be in Paris 2024.

“Thank you Bancamiga for believing in me,” she said

Brea once again thanked Bancamiga for its support on her path to this great event, which has allowed her to be in the Diamond League, in the World Athletics Championships held in Budapest and now in the Pan American Games.

The president of the Board of Directors of Bancamiga, Carmelo De Grazia, said that Joselyn Brea has brought Bancamiga and the country a lot of joy in recent days, which confirms how successful it has been for the institution to add figures like Joselyn who are examples of dedication, strength, discipline and commitment.

“It was very exciting for Bancamiga employees that this Wednesday he walked through each of our floors and gave us his time to be photographed with the staff along with his two medals. That fact demonstrates his great humility and simplicity,” he added.

Brea not only holds the record of being the first Venezuelan to win a double gold medal in a track event at the Pan American Games. He also accumulates other merits such as the national record in 1,500 meters achieved in Stanford (United States) with 4:07.27, twice the South American record for the 5,000 meters (until it was set at 14:47.76) and other national indoor records (9:04.67 in 3,000 meters) and 10 kilometers on the road, achieved in Valencia (Spain) with 32:05.

The Venezuelan flag bearer for the Pan American Games in Santiago de Chile was seen calm during the journey through the streets and avenues of the Baruta municipality, always accompanied by her manager Marvin Blanco.

“Tomorrow I am leaving for Paipa (Colombia) to continue my preparation for the Pan American Games. Today I felt very good and the race was very well organized. Caracas Rock is my favorite race because of its high level. I loved the Bancamiga point on the route. “It is wonderful what Bancamiga is doing for sports and running in Venezuela. Thank you for the support.”

The best runner in the history of Venezuela in the 5,000 and 10,000 meter dash expressed her gratitude to Bancamiga for the support it offers her on her path to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, where she hopes to qualify in the distances of 1,500 and 5,000 meter dash.

Among the men, Colombian José Mauricio González reached the top of the men’s podium, winning with 29.48, leaving Miranda State native Whinton Palma (30.21) and Gabriel Guzmán (30.38) in second place.

The race started at 7:00 am from the Valle Arriba golf courses, with the presence of runners from all over Venezuela, on a route that had as its most demanding points the return slope at the level of Prados del Este and the ascent towards Chuao, where Bancamiga precisely placed an entertainment point that aroused the enthusiasm of the participants. It was also like “a breath of oxygen” to continue toward the goal, said Rubén Darío González, one of the participants.

And at that point near kilometer 7, dozens of collaborators and volunteers from the bank cheered and shook hands with the athletes, in addition to being able to enjoy a good musical touch.

During the press conference, Marlon Monsalve, from Gatorade Venezuela, thanked Bancamiga Banco Universal and its executive president Ariel José Martínez, who at times was also supporting the runners at the entertainment point, for their support of Caracas Rock and the sport.

Near Plaza Alfredo Sadel, Bancamiga parked its mobile unit, which since June has been traveling throughout the country to connect more Venezuelans with banking services and bring them closer to the products and services that the bank offers such as its accounts in bolivars and in foreign currency, points of sale and the Bancamiga Mastercard Debit Card, which allows you to make online purchases, subscribe to streaming platforms and make withdrawals abroad.

This Sunday, once again, Bancamiga reaffirmed the importance for the institution of supporting all those initiatives that seek the well-being and better quality of life of Venezuelans.

During a visit to the Bancamiga offices for a photo session, to record several advertising spots and to thank the bank for its support, he said that he will fight to lower this Sunday “a little more” the mark he established in the last edition of Caracas Rock, a competition that he described as his “favorite.”

And it is perfectly understandable that this is the case because every time he participates he wins and breaks the distance record. This is what it has been doing in recent years. In 2022, she crossed the finish line with a great time, beating his best time of the competition by more than two minutes.

“I will fight to lower the record of 32 minutes 36 seconds. Last year I improved the previous one, which was 34.24. If the weather helps us it will be a great race, and it will serve to gain a bit of a strong rhythm to start working in Colombia in preparation for the Pan American Games in Santiago that are close, and where rivals from the United States will be present, who always do it more difficult. I will give everything to be among the medals in these Pan American Games.”

“I am excited that Bancamiga accompanies my dream”

Brea thanked Bancamiga for its support on her path to Paris 2024, which has allowed her to be in the Diamond League, in the World Athletics Championships recently held in Budapest and to maintain her momentum towards the Olympic Games.

“I am very excited and pleased by the support that Bancamiga gives me and my coach throughout this entire cycle of preparation for Paris 2024. I remember perfectly when Alberto Camardiel called me to inform me that Bancamiga will be accompanying my dream. I was in Colombia and I cried. For a long time I had hoped for support like this, and for Bancamiga to bet on me was exciting.”

For the President of the Board of Directors of Bancamiga Banco Universal, Carmelo De Grazia, supporting sport is essential, due to its direct association with well-being and quality of life, and “when this support contributes to elevating the national tricolor as Joselyn has done it this year in different settings in Latin America and Europe, pride increases for the institution.”

“Thank you Bancamiga for believing in me”

Joselyn Brea expressed that she was very happy to be, along with weightlifter Keydomar Vallenilla, the flag bearer of the national team in the Pan American Games that begin on October 20 in Santiago, Chile.

“It is exciting and at the same time a great responsibility to carry the flag of Venezuela. “I’m going to give everything in the 1,500 and 5,000 meter races to get medals for my country,” he said.

In the conversation, he referred to the experience of participating in the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest, where he faced the two best 5,000 meter runners today: the Kenyan Faith Kipyegon and the Dutch Sifan Hassan.

“I have a super nice experience, because being next to them is always very motivating and rewarding. Last year I had the opportunity to compete against Hassan in Aragon, but I was not in as good shape as I am now, although in the end I fell a little behind. In a competition of that level you realize that all the effort has been worth it and why you are here running.”

Finally, he stated that, together with Bancamiga, he can already see himself in Paris. “And this has me very motivated to continue working hard to achieve this dream. In Rio 2016 I couldn’t be there because I was injured, for Tokyo 2020 I got Covid. I am 100 % focused and confident that we will be in Paris. Thank you Bancamiga for believing in me.”

And it does so by promoting its practice among its collaborators and supporting amateur and professional sports and figures that serve as an example of honesty, commitment and responsibility.

In recent years, Bancamiga has been accompanying athletes who are a reference for Venezuelans who are struggling to achieve their goals. Now in its quest to reach the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Bancamiga will give its full support to the athlete Joselyn Brea, who this Sunday made her debut in style in the 3,000-meter flat event in the competitive Diamond League, organized by the World Athletic, the governing body for athletics in the world, explains a statement from the financial organization.

The executive president of Bancamiga Banco Universal, Ariel José Martínez, expressed his satisfaction with the support for this 28-year-old young woman, who will help position the brand in a segment that is key for the country, since sport is synonymous with commitment and honesty, values that are essential in the growth of Bancamiga and Venezuela.

“For Bancamiga it is essential to promote sport within the institution, because it is associated with a better state of health of its staff and therefore in terms of improvements in performance and productivity. It is also important to promote it abroad due to the impact it has due to the visibility of the company in areas related to our social responsibility and the construction of a better country”, he pointed out.

He also recalled that in April, Bancamiga launched the Together we make a team campaign, which has as its leitmotif “Dream and do it big. Believe, grow and let no one stop you”, where five passionate and committed Venezuelans (soccer player Deyna Castellanos, karate fighter Antonio Díaz, climber Federico Pisani, photographer Henry González and designer Amanda Dudamel) left behind endless obstacles to achieve their goals.

“Today we see Brea as an athlete who is focused on continuing her training and preparation plans with a view to obtaining her ticket to Paris 2024, achieving an outstanding participation in the World Cup in Budapest, scheduled from August 19 to 27 of this year, and a medal at the Pan American Games in Santiago de Chile, which will be held between October 20 and November 5, 2023. It is a pleasure for Bancamiga to accompany her in making those dreams come true”.

Her impressive track record deserves the support of Bancamiga and many others

The woman from Carabobo made her debut this Sunday in the Diamond League and expressed that she was very happy with her performance against the best distance players in the world. “I am going through a great moment and I hope to continue giving my best in the next competitions. The next stop of the Diamond League will be in Monaco (July 21), in a mile that will be very tough”, he said.

She is a practitioner of cycling and semi-distance and long-distance races. In 2020 she was a bronze medalist in the Duathlon European Championship (cycling + racing) and was gold in the Duathlon World Championship in 2021 and 2022.

This year she had a historic performance at the XXIV Central American and Caribbean Games, held in El Salvador, by achieving three gold medals in the 1,500-meter (record), 5,000-meter flat (record) and half-marathon events. Already in May she became the first South American woman to drop below 15 minutes in 5,000 meters, when at the Sound Running Track Fest, held in California, United States, she finished in 14:47.76.

Yesterday in Silesia, Poland, Brea crossed the finish line in 8 minutes 43 seconds 26 hundredths, setting not only a new national but also a South American record for the distance. With that mark, she broke the record that she herself had set in Sabadell (Spain) on February 8, 2022, and also destroyed the one in the region held by the Argentine Florencia Borelli with 8.53.88, achieved in Memphis (United States), on the 29th.
