The CEO of the US company, Andrew Wilson, gave a conference this week for the US bank Goldman Sachs.

Wilson announced that EA plans to invest even more in giving creation tools to the players of its titles. As an example, Wilson referenced the “CollaboZones” present in the game Skate that can be built collaboratively and appear in other players’ worlds in real time.

The advisor mentioned FIFA, Battlefield and The Sims as other instances where EA offers its players opportunities to create. The manager has predicted that this trend will materialize in the next “5 or 10 years”. By then, he hopes that the creation of new worlds will coexist with those of his study.

The video game developer and distributor Electronic Arts (EA) suffered a data breach due to an attack carried out by hackers, who stole the source code of the FIFA 21 game and the Engine.

The attack was first picked up by Vice this week and confirmed by EA to this medium, which indicates that they are investigating an intrusion incident on their network in which “a limited amount of source code and related tools have been stolen“.

Vice reported that hackers stole the FIFA 21 video game source code and matchmaking server code for this title, as well as the source code and tools for the Frostbite engine, used in games like Battlefield.

The ‘hackers’ published in various Internet forums the 780 GB of information stolen, which also includes frameworks patented by EA and software development packages (SDK), code packages used in the development of video games.

According to the information gathered from the forums, the attackers are going to sell EA data to “reputable and reputable members only,” as they stated in the forum post. At the moment, they have not shared any stolen data publicly.
