The owner of social network X (formerly Twitter), Elon Musk, denied that he would withdraw access to the platform in the European Union (EU) after a strong rumor about this maneuver to not comply with the Digital Services Act (DSA).
Sources related to X pointed out that Musk was analyzing the withdrawal of the platform from the European Union, as well as the blocking of access from the member countries in order not to have to submit to the DSA.
Such claims were quickly denied by the tycoon, directly on his social network account, denouncing them as false.
The rumors in this regard arise a week after the European Commission issued an official request to X to send a detailed report on the handling of violent content in addition to the “disinformation” that circulates on the social network precisely within the framework of the commented legislation.
The Commission informed Musk that these aspects would be evaluated and, in response, could impose fines for publishing “incorrect, incomplete or misleading” information.
It is important to make reference to the DSA, which is the set of rules in Europe that obliges digital service companies to comply with the principles of digital security for users, innovation, competitiveness in the single market, among others.
