Digital agricultural financing platform in Venezuela will be launched in 2025

Around 350,000 producers in Venezuela will have a digital agricultural financing platform starting in 2025. This was recently reported by the president of the Venezuelan Association of Agrotechnology (AVAT), José Augusto Linárez.

According to Linárez, it is a unique credit system in the country that will allow producers to sell crops, purchase tools, purchase seeds and supplies, obtain services for the sale of their crops; the purchase of tools, seeds and supplies, in addition to obtaining agricultural services in 5,000 agricultural stores throughout the country.

The application will be available to 350,000 family agriculture producers “and hopes to impact, in a first promotional advance, 30,000 field workers.” The private sector initiative will come to fill the gap that exists regarding financing alternatives.

According to Linárez, “family producers will be able to go to a network of agricultural stores with a totally new algorithm and as its name indicates it is a set of ordered and finite instructions that allow solving a problem.”

With the application, producers will receive a line of financing following a series of conditions, “among them the item to be cultivated, the location of the producer, their production capacity in hectares among other aspects,” said Linárez.
