China and the US hope to resolve their trade differences

Both countries resumed contacts in order to deal with economic issues and reach a peace agreement

The governments of China and the United States resumed their economic and commercial contacts “with normality” and hope to resolve the differences between the two powers with pragmatism in order to achieve mutual benefit and for the world as a whole, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs China trade.

“Both parties believe that the exchanges are professional, frank and constructive, and that the Chinese-American economic and commercial fields began to communicate normally“. Chinese ministerial spokesman Gao Feng said at a press conference, referring to the videoconferences held separately between Chinese Vice Premier Liu He with US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and US Trade Representative Katherine Tai.

“During the two calls, the two sides exchanged views on the economic and trade relations between China and the United States, the macroeconomic situation and domestic policies in an attitude of equality and mutual respect“, the official added.

In such a way, the two parties agreed that the next step is to work together from the perspective of benefiting both nations and the world as a whole, to pragmatically solve specific problems for producers and consumers, as well as to promote healthy and stable development of China and economic and trade relations with the United States.
